Welcome to Puffin's webpage!

Our aim with this site is to share news of our travels and experiences in Puffin. Our intention was to keep it updated fairly regularly, as a log of our journey; and, at the very least, to publish our quarterly newsletter here. Well, that hasn't happened! So let’s just say that new photographs, location reports and other stuff will be added as and when material, internet facilities and willingness coincide.

Meanwhile...

Puffin is spending another year in Atlantic Canada, mainly in and around Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. 2006 proved to be a fairly short season, but we managed to stick to our plan of not being very adventurous and more or less staying in the area and making the best use of the wind. As a result we did more sailing in five months than we managed in the three previous seasons put together, which was as satisfying as it was relaxing. We managed to sail to some new places (new to us, anyway) as well as revisit some old favourites. Musically, it was a very rewarding year. It started with Stanfest (or the Stan Rogers Folk Festival, to give its full name), developed into playing the odd gig at various ceilidhs and open mike nights, included a brilliant two weeks learning to play fiddle at the Gaelic College at St Anne's, Cape Breton, and culminated in playing a two-week show with Adam, Krysta and Paul (the Fleur-de-lis Trail Players) at the Louisbourg Playhouse. Here's to 2007!
